What is so good about Pumpkin Seed Butter?
Several months ago, we introduced The Great Pumpkin Bar. We added it to our line of natural soaps because we wanted to create a bar with pumpkin seed butter in it. Not just a fall favourite, this bar has so much good stuff in it, you will want to keep it handy all year round, particularly if you suffer from dry skin, eczema or other skin problems.

Most of us have known for a while that eating pumpkin seeds is not only a fun activity at Halloween, but a healthy one too. Full of vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids, its health benefits include everything from the prevention of some cancers to improving bladder function. What you may not have known is how effective the oil in the seeds can be in your skin care routine. Although suitable for all skin types, it is particularly good for dry, cracked skin, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Pumpkin seed butter is extremely nourishing and healing. It can help to prevent moisture loss and work on those fine lines we all hate. I use this bar often and although my skin tends to lean towards the oily end of the spectrum, it gives my skin a nice balance between the two extremes of dry and oily. It is great on my hands in Winter too, which crack and bleed from the cold temperatures. Of course, another reason I like it so much is the fragrance. Oozing with cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet orange and ginger essential oils, it smells just like a piece of pumpkin pie!
It is always fun and exciting when Anne and I get to experiment and create new bars in the soap factory. It is particularly rewarding when the end product is as great as The Great Pumpkin Bar. I think Charlie Brown and Linus would like it too.
