Have you ever read the ingredient label on your make-up?

Mineral make-up is all the rage these days and cosmetic companies are expanding their product lines to take advantage of this trend.  When my old foundation ran out recently, I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about and went shopping.

My local drug store had several brands available that looked great, with eco-packaging and organic mineral ingredients.  I did a quick check of the ingredient list and much to my dismay, I saw that many still contained the harmful chemicals and additives I am trying to avoid – parabens, petrochemicals, talc and artificial fragrance.  These nasty substances are being absorbed by our skin each and every time we apply our make-up, putting us at risk for cancer, allergies and irritation.  I was disappointed that I could not find anything that was 100% natural and pure, so I left the store without buying anything.
A few months ago, I would have purchased one of these products and felt satisfied that I had made a smart choice.  I always trusted that my skin products were safe and I never bothered to read the ingredients.  I have learned a lot since then.  Read the ingredient list on your make-up and skin care products.  Read the whole list, not just the first few items.  Learn the names of the things you should avoid and refuse to buy them.
Companies like “The Goat's Milk Soap Company” want to make healthy beauty simple and easy for everyone and our new line of 100% natural mineral make-up will do just that.  It already includes two gorgeous blush colours, with foundation and bronzers coming soon.  I am excited to be a part of the team creating these products and I am equally enthusiastic to use them.  Let our ingredient lists be the first ones you read.  Pure.  Simple.  Fabulous!
