Almond Oil (Sweet) is rich in oils and fatty acids which make it extremely nourishing for dry and irritated skin, and is known for its ability to soften and recondition. Although it is a moisturizer, it acts as an emollient because it softens skin rather than hydrates it. More importantly, sweet almond oil is a humectant, helping to prevent the loss of moisture.
Aloe Vera Gel is well known as a First Aid treatment for burns due to its ability to repair and heal the skin. What may not be as well known are its many internal therapeutic benefits for treating cholesterol, as an anti-fungal and antibacterial treatment for infections, kidney diseases, and much more. It nourishes and moisturizes the skin with vitamins B, D and carotene as well as, minerals and enzymes.
Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in vitamin A and E, and penetrates the skin without leaving an oily feel. It is good for all skin types as it absorbs quickly and is very nourishing, but particularly beneficial for prematurely aged, dry or irritated skin. The softening and moisturizing properties of this oil make it great for face, hands and hair. The apricot kernel oil helps skin retain elasticity, clarity, and suppleness.Argan oil is a rare and highly beneficial oil from Morocco, used for centuries for the skin and hair. Rich in vitamin E, carotenes, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids, it also has numerous medicinal properties. Argan oil is an anti-inflammatory and helps heal damaged skin and is said to protect from the signs of aging as it repairs the effects of dehydration and loss of elasticity. It is beneficial for the treatment of acne, oily complexions, eczema, psoriasis, dry skin, wrinkles, age spots, and scars. The high amount of tocopherols (vitamin E), help to make the skin noticeably softer and smoother, diminishing fine lines and improving the appearance of scars.
Arnica Herbal Oil has been used medicinally for centuries for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is most often used in liniment and ointment preparations for sprains, bruises, arthritis, insect bites, aches and pains. It relieves pain and is overall very soothing.
Avocado Oil is high in protein, minerals, vitamin A, B1, B2, D, E and beta carotene. It is an anti-inflammatory, is easily absorbed into deep skin tissue and has emollient properties, making it highly moisturizing and beneficial for sensitive and dry skin conditions. It penetrates deeply, providing particular relief from the itching, inflammation and flaking of eczema and psoriasis. For people with dehydrated, sun or climate damaged skin, it is an extremely nourishing, helping to regenerate and rejuvenate the skin.
Basil essential oil is used in aromatherapy for muscular aches and pains, respiratory disorders, colds and flu, hay fever, asthma, bronchitis, mental fatigue, anxiety, depression and as an aphrodisiac. It is also believed to be a good insect repellent.
Beeswax is used in our creams and balms because of its many healing properties. It forms a protective barrier to help the skin retain moisture and from environmental damage. It contains vitamin A, is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-allergenic and a germicidal antioxidant.
Calendula Herbal Extract promotes fast healing and skin regeneration due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It is beneficial for sensitive, dry or damaged skin, as a facial cleanser, it promotes the healing of wounds, burns, eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions.
Castor Oil is highly moisturizing and provides the skin with a protective barrier. It gives hair body and shine and protects it from environmental damage.It is known to help in the treatment of acne, scaring, stretch marks, shingles, age spots and much more.
Catnip essential oil has many uses in aromatherapy, among them it is considered beneficial for easing the pain of headaches, chest congestion and fever. It is considered to be a stimulant, astringent and we use it for its repellent properties in our bug spray.
Cedarwood essential oil is used in aromatherapy for the treatment of acne, arthritis, bronchitis, coughing, dandruff, dermatitis, oily skin, dermatitis and insect bites. It has warming, uplifting, and soothing for all states of tension, stress and anxiety. Its medicinal properties are as an antiseptic, antifungal, anti-infectious, astringent, diuretic and sedative.
Chamomile essential oil has many uses in herbal medicine, including the treatment of insomnia, aches and pains in muscles and joints, the symptoms of PMS, and stress. It is very calming and believed to relieve depression. It is used to reduce inflammation, easing the discomfort of hemorrhoids, cuts, Eczema, skin irritation, rosacea and insect bites. Chamomile has also been used as a disinfectant.
Citronella essential oil has many therapeutic properties, among them it is used as an antiseptic, deodorant, parasitic, tonic and a stimulant. It is best known as a natural insecticide. Citronella can also help with minor infections, combating colds and flu, and conditioning oily skin and hair. It is used in aromatherapy to help increase memory, stabilize emotions, and relieve depression.
Clary Sage is used to treat acne, inflammation, dandruff, rejuvenates cells and encourages hair growth. Used in aromatherapy to relieve depression, PMS, postnatal depression, stress related conditions. Its medicinal properties are as an anticonvulsive, antifungal, antiseptic, antispasmodic and astringent.
Cocoa Butter contains many different antioxidants, phytochemicals and minerals, making it very healing for all skin types, but in particular it helps prevent the deterioration of the skin from UV rays. It is very hydrating for dry skin leaving it soft and glowing, and beneficial for people with sensitive skin.
Coconut Oil is used in most of our soaps for its skin moisturizing and softening properties, especially dry and aging skin. Coconut oil is also beneficial for psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin conditions. It is very nourishing for the hair and can help reduce dandruff and nourishing damaged hair.
Dead Sea Mud is used in our Salt of the Earth Spa Bar and will be in our new face masks. It infuses the skin with minerals leaving it clean, refreshed and hydrated. It gently exfoliates, is a natural cleanser by removing toxins and impurities while tightening and toning the skin. It also aids in skin regeneration leaving the skin feeling refreshed.
Dead Sea Salts are extremely rich in minerals with the highest concentration of any salt. These salts are a natural exfoliant in our Salt of the Earth Spa Bar. They draw out toxins from the skin, balancing moisture and decreasing fluid retention. It is also beneficial for itchy, dry skin.
Emu Oil is used to treat numerous health issues, but is particularly healing for arthritis and skin problems. This oil is very moisturizing and gentle for all skin types, especially people with sensitive skin and allergies. Our Extraordinary Emu Bar is one of our most popular soaps with our customers who suffer from eczema and other skin problems. This exceptional oil penetrates deep into the trans-dermal layer of the skin, relieving sore, dry and irritated skin without clogging the pores; it reduces scaring from burns and cuts; gives relief from insect bites; and leaves the skin feeling soft and rejuvenated. Eucalyptus essential Oil is used for the treatment of many skin ailments including burns, blisters, wounds, insect bites, lice and skin infections. It is also used to combat the effects of colds and the flu, as well as the treatment of sore muscles and joints.
Geranium helps reduce inflammation, eczema, acne, burns, enhances skin repair, balances skin. In aromatherapy it is used to relieve anxiety, depression, stress and hormonal imbalance. Its medicinal properties include relieving anxiety, depression, stress and hormonal imbalance.
Ginger is known to helps with infections and in aromatherapy it is used as a stimulant and aphrodisiac. Its medicinal properties are as an antispetic, stimulant, tonic, to treat colds, sinusitis, and rheumatism.
Goat's Milk (only fresh!) is the second most important ingredient in our soaps after olive oil, and we use it exclusively over water because we believe in its hydrating and healing benefits. It has been used for centuries for the relief of dry skin, eczema and psoriasis. Goat's milk is high in protein, vitamins A, D, E & K, minerals and alpha-hydroxy acids. The ph of goat's milk is close to that of our own skin, therefore, its unique properties create a bar which is mild, non-irritating and highly-moisturizing. The high fat content of the milk give our soaps an exceptionally rich and creamy lather, which helps to nourish and rejuvenate the skin, as well as provide relief for dry skin, eczema and psoriasis. Honey has so many healing properties it is hard to include them all here. We use only local, unpasturized honey from our friend Jeff Burns. We include it in many of our products because we want to tap into its many therapeutic benefits: it is an anti-microbial, is moisturizing, soothing, an anti-oxidant, a natural humectant ( it attracts and retains moisture), makes the hair shiny and soft, it soothes the skin, has anti-oxidant properties which help fight aging skin and damage due to UV rays; it prevents drying, and helps in the treatment of acne; it is a great cleansing agent, and good for treating minor skin irritations. Jojoba oil is rich in vitamin E and provides the skin with a glowing complexion, reduces wrinkles and stretch marks. It is an effective cleanser, conditioner, moisturizer and softener for the skin and hair. Jojoba doesn't clog pores, but acts as a humectant by creating a protective film over the skin and hair shaft sealing in moisture. It most closely resembles human sebum (oil) than any other plant oil, and thereby helps to balance sebum production in oilier skin.
Lavender essential oil has numerous therapeutic properties and is considered by herbalists to be one of the most useful and versatile essential oils. It is used for the treatment of burns, as an antiseptic, anti-depressant, and to calm and promote sleep. It is believed to work as a cell regenerator, to prevent scarring and stretch marks, slow wrinkling, and treat acne. Lemongrass essential oil is invigorating and used by aromatherapists for its antiseptic and calming properties. It is often used in facial toners since its astringent properties help fight acne and greasy skin. An excellent anti-depressant, lemongrass essential oil strengthens the nervous system, and can be used in a bath to soothe muscular pain. It shares similar properties with citronella and is regularly used as an insect repellent.
Neem Oil is rich in fatty acids and glycerides, and has been used for centuries in traditional Indian medicine to treat skin disorders such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, rashes, and burns. It has antisceptic, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, is a very effective natural insect repellent, and it is an excellent moisturizer.
Olive Oil is one of the most important ingredients in all of our soaps and most of our body products. It is not just the fact that olive oil has so many nourishing benefits for the skin and body, but we use only the award-winning Sarafino olive oil which is of an exceptionally high quality and purity. This olive oil is extracted from the fruit of the olive therefore it is literally food for your skin. It is one of the reasons our soaps and creams are so moisturizing and healing for all skin types, as well as particularly beneficial for people suffering from eczema, dry and irritated skin. Full of beneficial nutrients such as mono- and polyunsaturated fats, vitamin E and squaline, which help to soothe and nourish the skin, olive oil also attracts and holds in external moisture. Peppermint essential oil in one of our favorites because of its invigorating and refreshing scent. This familiar aroma has many benefits for the mind and body, but is best known for both its warming and cooling properties, for clearing the sinuses, relieving bad breath and is a good nerve tonic that helps with mental fatigue and nervous stress. Stimulates skin's oil production, great on dry skin, kills head lice, poison oak, invigorating. It is used in aromatherapy to treat anger, depression, fatigue, headaches and memory problems. It is used medicinally as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial and antiseptic.
Pumpkin Seed Butter is wonderful for rejuvenating and revitalizing dry and damaged skin. It is rich in vitamins A, E & C, Omega-3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and antioxidants, therefore essential to maintaining healthy skin.

Sea Buckthorn Oil is one of the best sources of anti-oxidants due to high content of vitamins A, C and E. It is known to help combat wrinkles, dryness, healing burns, eczema, small cuts and wounds. The oil helps restore skin tissue, absorbs UVA and UVB rays making it good for sun care cosmetics. The sea buckthorn oil we use is produced from berries grown in accordance with organic principals. It gives our soaps a gently exfoliating texture while softening, toning and detoxifying the skin. It makes body care products very cleansing as it detoxifies the skin by drawing out toxins and impurities, while adding beneficial nutrients.
